About the Author
Angie Langley has a background in entertainment and venue management and she’s worked with artists in the US, the UK and Europe. She grew up in Somerset and has lived in the south west of England all her life. Nowadays home is in the beautiful Woodford Valley near Salisbury, on the banks of the river Avon. A tiny piece of heaven and a true writers paradise. When she's not writing, Angie isa keen photographer and is currently working on a book of poems for children all about the local wildlife who live along the riverbank.
Writing Jennifer Brown’s Journey was a labour of love as most of the book is based on her true-life experiences, enhanced by a furtive imagination which takes over as humorous characters and situations are brought in to provide the chapters with the emotional balance. Many of these humorous elements are the result of everyday observations.
Jennifer Brown’s Journey is her first book, inspired by the highs and lows of a distant past that has given her the strength to tackle each day with a smile.

Jennifer Brown's Journey by Angie Langley is an entertaining book from beginning to end. The main character, Jennifer Brown, is an ordinary woman. She's stuck at a job that she doesn't like nor do well. Her episodes of mistyping memos is hilarious. I love her humor. Jennifer isn't sure what she wants to do. She feels like she's the only one growing old. Her journey from one job to another is exciting. There is plenty of juicy scenes to enjoy. Drama to respecting herself, Jennifer Brown has a journey that is just beginning. Angie Langley has created a fun atmosphere. Her character feel real. Their troubles are easy to understand. A laugh out loud comedy that is alluring. Overall, I recommend this novel to all.Product details

Oh my goodness, I loved, LOVED this book!!! At the beginning of the book, I wasn't sure if it was my kind of read, but after a couple of pages, it got a hold of me and I couldn't stop turning the pages fast enough! I finished it in a day )
Jennifer Brown is an ordinary girl having a pretty standard kind of life. She has been with Pete for a decade, she knows that their relationship isn't perfect, but whose is anyway, after so long? She isn't particularly happy in her work either, but she knows it inside out and she has her friend Will to give her support whens she needs it, and things go along in a familiar and faintly boring way. She also has a mum whom she loves but who is starting to lose the plot a bit. Jennifer Brown could be any of us, just going through the motions, not happy but not desperately unhappy either. Until things blow up and Jennifer goes on an amazing adventure. She meets so many interesting people along the way, she does interesting things as well, and she gets to know herself so much better.
I spent most of the book thinking what an amazing friend and colleague Jennifer would be, for anyone, even though I also wanted her to put herself first a little more often. She was such a likeable character though, and I absolutely cannot WAIT until I read the next instalment )
A highly recommended 5 stars from me!

JENNIFER BROWN'S JOURNEY by Angie Langley is a heartwarming story about love, betrayal, and picking yourself up after your world changes.
Jennifer Brown seems to have it all - a hunky husband, a career, and a personality that endears herself to everyone she meets. But when she uncovers a secret betrayal, it turns her whole life inside out and Jennifer decides that it is time for a change of scene, in fact, a change of lifestyle.
From housekeeper to manager, as we travel along with Jennifer's journey of self-discovery, be prepared to laugh out loud many many times, as the other characters that Jennifer encounters will blow your mind! But there is also a deeper side to this novel as we get to really know Jennifer who matures a lot over the course of this story as she begins to think deeply about what she wants from her future.
The characters are realistic, likeable (well, except for one in particular!!), and really engaging and I read this story in one sitting without even realising it until I turned the last page. The book is well-paced with never a dull moment and I loved seeing the real Jennifer emerge as she began to find her feet and self-confidence again.
JENNIFER BROWN'S JOURNEY by Angie Langley is a great read and perfect for fans who enjoy a well-written story with plenty of drama!

Chin up, Jennifer Brown, windows up, grab your sunnies and don't let the seagulls steal ya chips! Let the Journey begin! Twelve years into a stint as a secretary at Intex, outside London, she’s had enough. Not only has her boyfriend, Pete with his Performing Pecker, cheated on her, but she’s the butt of jokes at work as well. Her “dirty rota” and “tits policy” typos earn her dumb blonde status. She wants to be taken more seriously. So, she drives off in her beat up Peugeot on a whirlwind journey of life affirming self discovery. There are jaunts to Australia and Spain and frequent calls to Will, her gay best friend. A journey implies change; Jennifer gains respect for herself and for her various working mates, slogging together through life, but what remains constant is her youthful mirth and her pursuit of happiness. Might it be found closer to home than she ever anticipated?
Angie Langley’s background in the entertainment business is apparent in the colorful characters she portrays. There’s Will, of course, and Jonathan, his and Jennifer’s debonair boss, Jennifer’s forgetful and all-too-generous mother, Gerald, the crotchety old fisherman made to wear a toupee by his Russian fiance, George, her next boss, kind but not in love with his high-maintenance wife, Larry, Jennifer’s kind-of (?) married Australian friend, and the hippie cat woman whose barn she almost rents, to name a few. If you wish for a little less color and a little more focus to the plot, be patient with Jennifer. She's worth the vibrant meandering unflagging, even when she’s at her lowest point, whose empathy, humor and work ethic are a delight to accompany. Thanks for the trip, Jennifer!
I am rolling! This is hilarious! "Throw a couple newts in the pot..." I think I might work with this same witch! If you have ever worked in an office, or been dumped, or know somebody with too many cats, you are going to love this book. It's like an updated "Bridget Jones Diary."
